In reply to @hair399. Lol! I can recommend you the book 'Dodging Energy Vampires' by Christiane Northrup. In it she describes the physical effects for many people who are in relationships with chronic 'takers'. She also provides some healing strategies.

You are so right. After taking care of my husband through his cancer journey and death, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My best friend was diagnosed with lung cancer when her husband died. Stress is a major factor I believe
