Matt, I agree with you. When my partner and I were actively trying to make things work, we’d go back and forth for hours trying to get each other to understand where we were coming from, as well as trying to understand where the other was coming from. In the end, we both kind of threw our hands up and said to one another–I don’t know what else to say. We’d both given up, and that’s where it ended.

  • @user-zo9pi3gj1x says:

Apathy is a bad sign coming from both partners in a relationship but I don’t think caring is coming from ego….I think it’s the heart and the heart is fearful of losing that man or woman.

    • @user-zo9pi3gj1x says:

I think that I should add there is caring and fear of losing a man or woman who you love and the desire of that man or woman to remain in that relationship with you. I don’t believe in making anyone do something they don’t want to do…including stay with me if I am not who he loves and wants to be with. I guess my fear of losing said man is less than my fear of our relationship being a lie.

  • @allis4566 says:

I agree on all of it❤❤❤

  • @audra1976oliver says:

    This is so true.

  • @noelleeanne says:

💯 I’ve discussed this with my partner a couple times over the years. That anger/hate is not the opposite of love, but apathy is. Apathy IS what should be dreaded or guarded against above all else in a relationship.

  • @christyjoy7021 says:

    Wow, that makes sense
    Thank you!

  • @loudandproudkitcheng8172 says:

Omg Matt! I experienced apathy this time last year from my now estranged husband. I didn’t realise it, until I had a few therapy sessions. My therapist helped me to unpack the layers. I’m happy to report, that life is brighter for knowing and letting go of my five year marriage

  • @AnnaBurdach says:

I agree 100% that goes for both man and women.

  • @dashiajames1882 says:

    This is truly correct.

  • @axelashu says:

This is soooo damn irritating. Defensive men make difficult boyfriends…they dont look for solutions, they just want to prove what they are doing is right…and keep doing it…
    How to deal with this??

  • @naowright9308 says:

Ya, he gets so defensive that he starts telling me all the ways I fail him. I don’t keep the house clean enough with all 8 of our children in it all day long. I don’t cook enough. I don’t sew enough. I don’t watch the babies well enough(one of them ran in front of a swing). I spend too much time away from home(the first time I started going places like my sister’s house in 12 years).
