I ask German men on the streets of Cologne and Munich who should pay on the first date. Here is what they have to say.

It’s inspiring to see how passionate everyone is about this topic. It’s a reminder of the importance of intellectual curiosity.๐Ÿ’‹

  • @SupernaturalLove100 says:

โ€œwhat do i get if i payโ€ ew. pay up. itโ€™s a manโ€™s world. women give too much emotional and physical labor in relationships to also have to pay during first dates get outta here.

    • @h00liaa says:

@@DrTel don’t worry it’s not like you’re getting a date in the first place sweetheart ๐Ÿ™‚

    • @DrTel says:

@@h00liaa yeyeye anyone who disagrees with you is an incel, we know

    • @yunleung2631 says:

lol. Men also give emotional labor.

but if you insist on reinforcing outdated gender roles, then expect less choice.

    • @tealimeteatime1244 says:

“What do I get if I pay?” Does he think paying will get him the right to get laid? ๐Ÿ’€ Most men are cheap, no marriage material.

  • @BCSchmerker says:

+datingbeyondborders *I didn’t date without the State of California (USA), therefore have agnosis on relational customs for other places.*

  • @kandondooley89 says:

“I’m worth it” every raggedy person’s mantra

  • @yunleung2631 says:

The first man is certainly not worth it

  • @Mimisugar452 says:

You should be man enough to pay on the first date. Women put in too much time and effort into looking good for a date, especially the first one. It’s the least you could do.

  • @Anglo-Mountaineer007 says:

I like to pay for the meal as I am a provider, I saw my father pay the bills, so I like to be like him. I take women who I have met her in our group, friends of friends, to restaurants so I can get to know them.

If she does not present herself as feminine and traditional, I will not take her out again.

  • @erikas.6790 says:

For the man who needs a “test,” what if I’m testing you? If you are not willing to pay for the first date, you don’t like me enough, and that’s it

    • @ctsd623 says:

      What about gender equality?

    • @SupernaturalLove100 says:

@@ctsd623 women still donโ€™t get paid as much as their male counterparts for doing the same job. the pay gap is still a thing based on sex. women are still the ones who are the primary caregivers of their children and who have to birth the child while fathers take a back seat. so what โ€œgender equalityโ€ are you referring to?

    • @Tony-Man says:

Then you obviously arenโ€™t a good match for each other. Itโ€™s a good thing that you learn about this rather quickly

  • @_MC529 says:

If we regularly go out, we switch up.
If it’s our first date and I asked out, I pay.
    Equal.

  • @aknezevic997 says:

Great if this works for them, but then they should stay and date within their culture, or maybe other Germanic/Scandinavian countries with the same mentality. Because the rest of the world is not like this.

  • @Limpi43 says:

If she wants him to pay, what sets her apart from gold diggers?

  • @Fatherland927 says:

The first date both should pay so they can get to know each other first, then the man pays going forward. When I met my wife on the cruise, I began to pay for every meal and drink after we first met.

  • @juliushauck3981 says:

I actually like to pay as a gesture, but if it’s expected that won’t happen. I am not an ATM, If I pay than because I want to do so.
