Many people were raised to be so “obedient”, such people-pleasers, as children that it evolves into a subconscious neglect of one’s own self in adulthood. Definitely requires some reprogramming.

Absolutely- totally agree with you - be kind , warrm but be AUTHENTIC- be cool and flexible but also firm - be able to set boundaries if necessary; also valid for friendships or acquaintances !Thank you MAT
