• Yes I've definitely had this before and it was a painful experience.....but I am also greatful in retrospect that I had a relationship with a guy with an avoidance attachment style cause it taught me what I don't want in a relationship in the future, Lesson learnt.

  • Attachment Adam is the best in the field, although he still has certain unacceptable/unprofessional beliefs since he himself has a recovering, anxious attachment style.
    He is a professional therapist of 15 years and specialises in attachment styles.

• Sounds like a girl I dated for 2 months where things were in my opinion going great then after 8 weeks pulled away. She said she was too busy for me and feeling that she was pulling away I gave her space and did not want to persue her. She still got mad at me for it and ended it. Broke my heart. With some people you can’t always win.

• This just happened to me however I didn’t know about these attachment styles until after we broke up. If these avoidants are so fearful and emotionally unavailable why are they out there pretending like they’re ready to be in a relationship when they’re actually afraid of commitment? My ex used to tell me “you’re beautiful don’t settle for less than you deserve.” And I still don’t know exactly why he kept saying that to me but it was probably because he was wanting to break up and that was his way of avoiding the hard conversation.
