I think it’s accurate to whole central and northern Europe, not only Germany. Here it doesn’t look good when you talk about yourself only. The result is as this women says – she know nothing about the other person. On the other side it looks like: I’m askng questions, give my interest, know everything about this person, who takes all the stage and lights to him/herself, but this person is not interested in me at all. I don’t get anything in return. Is there a space for me in this conversation?
It happens to me sometimes too, when I feel I’ve been used as listener or attention giver. But never with Brazilians so far… It’s not sth brazilian, locals sometimes behave like that too. I think the key here is a balance between asked questions and answers given 😉 + give some space to the other person. Local introverted people will not fight with you, they’ll walk away and avoid meeting you again 😉

I’ve know a few Brazilians who are not like that. Yes. it’s not good to yap too much. My brain disengages from what they’re saying after around a minute. Men who gabble are the worst – you kind of expect this from women.
