• I spent a few years in Shanghai, part of it teaching English. Many know the rules of grammar better than I did, but very few can apply the rules fluently, which comes as second nature to a native English speaker. The best English speakers tend to be the bravest ones who let go of the rules and just jump into conversing. The regular missed preposition, incorrect tense, or plural, or gender, or mistaken word adds colour to their presentation. :)
