Trust me, many (possibly the majority) of the people in the Baltics, when they go to warm and sunny happy countries, feel like they belong there and not in their home country. The cold and dark season - from October to April - is barely sufferable. A couple of months in summer when it almost doesn't get dark are amazing, they are what keeps us alive throughout the year. If you can afford a vacation in a sunny place during the dark season - it's like going to heaven for a while 😅
