I’ve lived in both Los Angeles and Switzerland and this is almost word for word this same experience as me (Los Angeles = Rio, Switzerland = Finland)

  • @VallinSFAS says:

For better or worse, Atlanta in a lot like Rio. That’s why I’m moving to Europe.

  • @user-od4yl3rf4n says:

I love our eastern europe (finnish too) straighttotgepointness

  • @Frivals says:

“come to my house” but don’t come to my house 😂😂🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ stupidity

  • @SerErryk says:

I actually loathe the type of people she described. No concern for your time and will deceive you to your face and think they are being nice by doing it.

  • @airgaborpara3824 says:

    She is cool!

  • @Xestra37490 says:

I agree people respect time in Scandinavian countries totally different. You have to be patient the thinking is quite different or the culture I might say.

  • @indigobunting2431 says:

    Beautiful English skills.

    • @kingdt903 says:

All Nordic countries start studying English from 3rd grade. It’s part of the curriculum and a major part of our education program. If you don’t pass English, math and whatever the national language you have (depending on what country we are in) you can not advance your education to high school or university level

    • @Fluxwux says:

@@kingdt903We are also exposed to movies, TV shows, music and video games in English without dubbing from a very early age so most kids already have a fairly good understanding of English or at least basic skills when starting 3rd grade. Which is a huge advantage when learning the language

      @@joseantoniogalante897
Most of the people in the World do not speak English.

    • @TKopra says:

@@kingdt903 Actually it was changed to start foreig language at 1st grade. Most choose english.

  • @ThiagoMnab says:

She is totally right. We(Brazilians) don’t like to be rude, so we try to be nice as much as we can, even tho its a small talk.
Doctors(Specially paid ones)are pain in the butt.

  • @lucianodsb says:

I don’t understand how she can’t say a single strictly positive thing about the place yet she lived there for 18 years

  • @a.t4331 says:

That “nice small talk” is a way of showing respect even in some asian countries and you can figure out which ones really mean come to my house after some time. If your culture doesn’t have it doesn’t mean u can disrespect it. Like i didnt disrespect German’s piercing my heart with their way of talking when i went there. Its just about culture diffrences.

  • @thiagonoce says:

One thing that almost everyone does is to think a country and a city/region is the same thing. Rio is too slow and late even for me. Other regions are not Scandinavia but are much more punctual. People in São Paulo and Minas are pretty decently on time.

  • @ricardoheurich7824 says:

I went to a dentist in Ipanema and he was on time and made an excellent job.

  • @RedDevils7 says:

I hope people don’t take the lack of genuineness in Rio as an example for the rest of the country, where it is the exact opposite. I feel as if this is mostly true in all the big metropolises in the world though.

  • @hemmper says:

I know both Finnish and Brazilian people. They’re kind of opposites 😀

  • @AL-kj8zo says:

“I don’t actually have to mean what i say here” 😂 Everyone just talking sh!t 😂

  • @pizzaplayzzz8622 says:

    She just described Ireland

    • @urban_coyote says:

I worked in Ireland for a while. The answer was always “ah sure, look… It’ll be grand”. I loved this outside of the work place… As a yank, it killed me in the office 😂

    • @theheaterguyryan5052 says:

@@urban_coyotethose where probily Dubs you where dealing with😅the are full of sh1t

  • @louisasmith7891 says:

She totally nailed it! As a Brit living here 🇧🇷, those are the two worst things.

  • @ellsworth1984 says:

People pretend to be your friend when you first meet. Then you never hear from them again. 😢😢😢😮

  • @davidyasss3484 says:

My time in Brazil was the same. You have to add a couple of hours on to your appointment… It’s mind numbing. But I still love the country and people ❤
