My time in Brazil was the same. You have to add a couple of hours on to your appointment... It's mind numbing. But I still love the country and people โค

People pretend to be your friend when you first meet. Then you never hear from them again. ๐ข๐ข๐ข๐ฎ
She totally nailed it! As a Brit living here ๐ง๐ท, those are the two worst things.
She just described Ireland

I worked in Ireland for a while. The answer was always "ah sure, look... It'll be grand". I loved this outside of the work place... As a yank, it killed me in the office ๐
โI donโt actually have to mean what i say hereโ ๐ Everyone just talking sh!t ๐
I know both Finnish and Brazilian people. They're kind of opposites ๐
I hope people don't take the lack of genuineness in Rio as an example for the rest of the country, where it is the exact opposite. I feel as if this is mostly true in all the big metropolises in the world though.
I went to a dentist in Ipanema and he was on time and made an excellent job.
One thing that almost everyone does is to think a country and a city/region is the same thing. Rio is too slow and late even for me. Other regions are not Scandinavia but are much more punctual. People in Sรฃo Paulo and Minas are pretty decently on time.
That "nice small talk" is a way of showing respect even in some asian countries and you can figure out which ones really mean come to my house after some time. If your culture doesn't have it doesn't mean u can disrespect it. Like i didnt disrespect German's piercing my heart with their way of talking when i went there. Its just about culture diffrences.
