Just found your channel recently — about the same time I met someone very special. I’ve gained a great deal of insight since arriving here. Thank you, Mat for sharing your insight especially a man’s perspective.
I literally never thought of this at all. You bring up the most interesting things. I love these videos they are so interesting & great.
Thanks alot..!!
It’s easy. Speak your truth from day 1. Get to know each other and tell him your hopes, dreams, wants and needs. And ask him his.
Thanks Matt. Good insights! Thanks
😊😊😊😊😊
It was an honor to meet you in Dallas. Your videos have changed my life. 🤗
We enjoy the same values; family, laughter, and respect for all.
Thanks Mat! I especially appreciate your examples of how to word the questions in a way that’s playful rather than sounding like a heavy, formal interview. It’s a bit counter culture to ask serious questions early on but I agree, it’s a waste of everyone’s time if it doesn’t happen. Peace.
Mat’s positivity and humor have been so incredibly helpful over the years. Thank you, Mat, for always bringing an upbeat slant to often challenging areas of life. 🙏🏼
3:52 “what are a few things you want to accomplish in your life, for it to be considered a total success? (Ex. I want to give back in a way that really matters, I want a wife and family,.)
-what are the values you have now, that you didn’t grow up with? Or that you grew up with that your going to use for your family?
-I’m not really good at small talk, would you mind big talk?
– where do you want to live ultimately? Scare off the guy who is not right for you. To attract the right guy.
– pay attention to how he behaves and where he invests his time and money.
– how does his spirituality show up? Oh How do you practice your faith, what are some things that feel nurturing to you?
– if his value is personal growth and development, ask him what books he’s read recently about it? What podcasts do you listen to? The person whose living these things will have tangible responses. You can see it demonstrated in his life.
The way I discover a man’s values, as I listen to what he hast to say, and I pay attention to what he does when I approach him as a friend.
❤
Everything Matt shares is valuable and awesome
We shared and compared our definitions of “success”. It really clarifies things because not everyone has the same definition of success. Another thing I’ve done with my man is writing and comparing lists of short and long-term goals.
Great idea ❤
I’ve discovered not to believe anything someone says, look at what they are modeling in their lives. I also find it important to ask questions and listen. Just let them talk and they will reveal so much about themselves. Like listen at a different level. What aren’t they saying, what do they feel comfortable talking about. What is their body language? I met a judge for a date. When I asked him questions of how he impacted the youth that came into his quart room, he said he impacted too many to even count. Then I followed it up with, “please tell me one or two stories.” He couldn’t do it and try to change the subject. Anytime I asked him any question that wasn’t surface he skated around it. No depth. Intelligent but no depth or emotional intelligence..
Yes! The playful phrasing is good to use as a woman AND would be appreciated coming from the man! Mat you had a great term about not making a date like an interview (I forget your neologism, face palm) BUT I was equipped and was able to recognize it when it came my way! Many thanks, I felt empowered to walk away from THAT! 🤣
I always feel empowered by your amazing relationship advice videos, Mat. 😊

On our second date he said wanted a long term relationship
If his actions are line up with what he says and consistent with showing thank you for this advice ❤
Mat this was very helpful. It was a great eye opener for me and I look forward to finding my special someone who is just for me and me for him. This is great advice and techniques to follow. I want to find those connections and just meet him and know ok this is the one . I unfortunately have never felt this before in dating. I do have faith the Lord will provide for us in the right timing . God bless you Mat
Out of all the relationship coaches, I like Mat and his wife the best. He never mocks or belittles.
