• Interesting. I never really put much that much thought into flirting. I just used to be very open, friendly, and approachable. I used to enjoy meeting new people. I think that I may have even been accused of being a natural flirt, even when flirting wasn't my intention at all. However, when there was a man who I found really attractive, had intense chemistry with, and wanted to get to know better, sometimes I'd clam up after being open and friendly. IDK if it was fear of my feelings or a bit of shyness to my outgoing personality when it came to romance, if that makes any sense. I agree that being authentic, during all phases of a relationship...from flirting to commitment is paramount and non-negotiable.

  • I also believe the reason I clam up after being really open and friendly with a man I am interested in is the potential power he could eventually have over me. I'm a control freak and feel unnerved at the prospect of a man having too much control over me...especially emotionally because that is when he has the power to really hurt, if not destroy me, if his heart is not in the right place. I saw it happen to my mom and other women in my life during my childhood. You can say, that left a mark on my psyche.
