Communication really covers the way to have and maintain a solid relationship. That my happiness is my responsibility, that he can support is new to me. And the other part is true, that I can support my husband but it is his responsibility. Whew…that I need to work on. Thanks Mat.

  • @HerSunHisMoon91 says:

Communicating can be really hard for me, I have a hard time sometimes expressing myself. Conflict resolution skills, I’m good at that, or at least that’s what I think. Compromise: my husband and I are ok on this. Connection: oh we have our love language on point. Character: if you can’t be happy for yourself, another person will not make you happy. Thank you!!!

I really appreciate content like this! I started watching your videos when I was dating and now, as I’m married, it is so nice to see videos that I really need at the moment! I never knew just how much work it takes to continually keep up a long term relationship/marriage. Thank you for your help!!

  • @tbmhorror says:

Patience. Sometimes you just need to stay on their side and be patient with their emotions.

  • @aubs965 says:

Mat, I found you 10 years ago when I was 18 and coincidentally I found you just a few months before I met my husband online. You made me understand so much more about myself and others I have a relationship with, and I went into talking to my now husband with such a greater perspective because of you. I even told him about you and it made so much sense to him, so much so that he told me “Gosh, why can’t every girl think like you?” And that was like the 4th day of us knowing each other. You helped me understand certain things that would happen throughout us dating. 10 years later and we are married with three kids now. I still watch you to this day to keep things fresh and learn something new. You are so amazing brother, thank you for sharing your knowledge and advice with us! ❤️

  • @c.b.2321 says:

Thank you. Acceptance, respect, wanting to know how the other feels. Good conversations about all that what moves you. I love the idea about sweaty 10 minutes conversation. Like this, yes! Greetings from Northern Germany from a fan, female, 59 years old 🙂

  • @jeanettesuzannebrooks1963 says:

    Compassion, consideration, and comfort maybe.

  • @audra1976oliver says:

My bf just broke up with me a month ago and he said he wasn’t happy yet never told me why. To remember I’m not responsible for his happiness makes a difference. I beat myself up for things he wouldn’t communicate with me.

  • @secretshaman189 says:

Great advice as usual. “10 minute sweaty conversation” love it! I have found that a solid friendship is the best foundation for a great intimate relationship.

  • @kimfrederick7710 says:

Love how your videos are always full of knowledge of helpful information for both the short term relationships as well as long term relationship that helps keep relationships last and keep it fresh

  • @SmittyTra-tra says:

This is a great video chock full of so much helpful info! Pretty much all the things my ex husband and I didn’t do for each other lol! Wonder why it didn’t work! I’m trying to be an empowered older lady and so the “scared of losing him” title did make me eye roll 🙄 but I guess fear draws a crowd so I understand!

  • @oluwadamilolaoriade5426 says:

This skill works with a guy who knows exactly what he wants in relationships not the guy that comes to your life and destroy your happiness 🙏😭

  • @ersheri says:

Really one of the better videos you’ve done!

  • @Ramanhere468 says:

Communication, Conflict Resolution, Compromise, Connection and Character. ❤

  • @vickydenman4581 says:

Be knowledgeable. Read (even if you don’t want to). Be able to look outside yourself. Bring something to that relationship. If your partner plays tennis, and you haven’t played for years, take some lessons. Emotions have their place, for certain, but add quality to your life and his. Please know current events.

  • @How.Dare.You. says:

The one and only secret is finding a guy that doesnt want to be lost

    • @marieskee22 says:

Your statement just hit me like a ton a bricks. That was pretty profound, Lady!

    • @wj1915 says:

      What does that mean?

    • @How.Dare.You. says:

@@marieskee22 thank you, wishing you finding that dream man 🥰

    • @Leeohlin89 says:

Well that actually depends on us. What we bring to the table as well. Are we showing them enough love, respect and compassion? Enough for them to not want to be lost. Things need to be balanced I believe. 🙏🏼

    • @How.Dare.You. says:

@@Leeohlin89 but there are cases that even though one may bring all of it to the table, another can still leave for whatever reason. If you try your best and the guy is not 100% in, you know hes a wrong one for you

  • @Codaflower says:

All your videos are awesome, this one definitely hits different as someone who has been married almost 16 years . Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

  • @deliapasqualini970 says:

Thank you for remarking “your partner’s happiness is not your responsability and your happiness is not theirs”👍👍👍

  • @AsmaaKadryWassanWorldwide says:

Wow! This is such a great video, Matt. It definitely sums it all up in a very beautiful way. I’m saving this and sending it to everyone I know. Thank you so much, God bless you & your family always 💗
