I had a girl a couple of years a go at a shopping centre information desk I liked, I commented on her name Mairead , I said that sounds Irish she goes it’s very Irish, then I said how I have an Irish surname and my cousins have Irish names , she didn’t ask me any questions just the friendly laugh and that was that 😏
This is actually a very good technique, Kezia! Depending on the situation, it can work especially well if, as you said, it is used on a group of girls and if it’s a simple and fun one, and can even be done as part of a hybrid opener.

I was wondering if Kezia ever let it go in a relationship? From my experience, as a foreigner, I’ve noticed English women can’t express themselves properly. If no banter or games, they get confused, uncomfortable and elusive. I have no problem picking up English women as they always hit on me but I really feel pity for them. Each time they get to my place, they don’t know what to do. They are so lost for no reason. I am calm , collected and charming but for some reason they are uncomfortable. | had to kick some of them out from my place because of their attitude. Why do they visit me if they are scared? what s wrong with these people?
I feel the good thing about Opinion Openers is, that they draw immediate investment from the woman. And it makes it also fun for her. Therefore it can become easier to get into a conversation than with a direct approach. Drawback is maybe that it can lack intent, and you risk having a friendly conversation – that is just a friendly conversation. So intent has to made clear somehow.
The safest opinion opener to ensure that it cannot be interpreted as a pickup is, “my wife has an opinion on this and I like to get another women’s opinion on it”.
