Some of these go out the window when he has ADHD or ASD. Make sure you know if you’re with someone with either of these, because videos like this will put expectations that cannot be fully met into your head, and destroy your relationship.

    • @ElaBB2020 says:

Nope. If he truly cares he will still make the effort, ADHD or not. Don’t let him use his diagnosis as an excuse. He will set multiple reminders for events/ appointments/ etc because he knows he really needs to remember. I bet he doesn’t forget he made plans to go do something with his buddies, or buying whatever snack he really wanted while forgetting that 1 important thing you asked for from the store. If you are seeing he’s able to follow through on things that he cares about (but not the ones you care about) then you’re settling and accepting mediocre effort. This is from someone who has ADHD and made plans to attend a wedding, but didn’t realize it was on the other side of the state I traveled to until the night before 😂.
***TLTR: don’t let this crusty dude convince you that his low effort is his ADHD; thus, conditioning you to lower your expectations and standards.
