I am from Germany and visited Poland in June. Maybe they don’t smile, but when you speak with them friendly they do.
I would say they are usually very friendly.
Germany is not better, just a fake smile and they forget you after a few days even if you had live something powerfull with them
@@TRENTRESEPT depends on the Region. Usually they are friendly too. Like the polish
@@cogitoergosum9129 friendly to drink beers and be drunk. Otherwise…sooooo cold. At least that was all my experiences
@@TRENTRESEPT lol maybe you had bad luck
@@cogitoergosum9129nah ,you are cold as ice
I think I found my people
There’s nothing funny, so people don’t smile, just normal
@@Shirumoon Hmm yep!😂I can try
@@Shirumoon😊
Not to forced smile but neither to have the upset expression on their face
@@Frivals yes…but people show their emotions intentionally !🤔
@@Shirumoon maybe if you weren’t so gaslighted by the smiling gas excuse me culture you wouldn’t have voted for Biden😂
Yeah, we dont smile unless youre smiling first 😂
😊
The guy smiling for the camera sure could play a role like Darth Vader’s friend in a Star Wars production.
You want them to smile all by themselves while walking without anyone saying a joke or smth like they’re mentally unstable?
😂
exactly 🤣🤣🤣
muricans…
Not to forced smile but neither to have the upset expression on their face
and people with miserable grumpy faces are the mentally stable ones haha
Most people around the world probably wouldn’t be smiling in the situations shown…
Not to forced smile but neither to have the upset expression on their face
@@Frivals I didn’t see any particularly upset facial expressions, and if anything, those clips could have been cherry-picked.
But it is just for the meme bruh
Its better than the fake north american way.
we did not know that real people look miserable
@@topalbanoyour perception is skewed. Normal relaxed face does not look miserable. You live in a country where everyone has a fake joker smile glued up to his fsce at all times, I see why you’re not used to seeing faces with neutral expression.
As an American, I never fake smile. I am genuinely happy when I smile. Which is almost all the time. This is my first time in poland (where I am now.) It’s hard to walk around and not show emotion. I am very happy to be alive and traveling and I want to spread my joy and happiness but I can’t! I respect the “mind your business and don’t be different” mindset but it’s hard to bottle my joy! Most Americans are not fake. It might be a bit extreme, but we really genuinely are happy when we smile!
@@lukeswain1752 you have your culture we have ours but smiling in Poland isn’t a bad thing it may make ppl warm up to you and be contagious, but you gotta understand if your country was invaded and bombed as many times as Poland was I don’t think you guys would be smiling either😂
@@WielkiLewimalytygrys I was thinking just that. With how many times you’ve been walked over, I’d be skeptical and mean to everyone 🤣 but I still think you boys could try a little more kindness in your life! I don’t feel comfortable approaching or talking to anyone!
They’re generally quite serious but, if you have the chance to spend some time with them, they’re friendly, nice people.
actually i had a polish friend he was always making jokes…liked his energy:))
but most they will smile back if u smile 1st…only have to learn how to get out of their cocoon..
Half Polish (half Lithuanian) here, I barely ever smile! 😂
The same situation in Russia. We prefer a sincere smile than fake politeness.
My ex gf said that in Russia if you just walk around smiling, people will think your an idiot (there was a saying or something).
There is no “”fake politeness”. Either you are always polite or you are a homo sapiens.
@@lou_entertainment смех без причины – признак дурачины. “Laughing for no reason is a sign of foolishness” if translated literally.
@@user-em1gx1kl4t She gave me the exact same quote:
“Nur Idioten lachen grundlos”
@@lou_entertainmentthere is a same quote in Croatia aswell
Also czechs adn all of eastern europeans mostly 😉 greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮
is it true that slovenes are just alpine Croats?
@@srbce8355 yes
@@srbce8355 yes, like serbs are balkan croats
@@BoboSLO1 Only Bosnia serbs are ethnic Croats, the rest of the serbs are ethnic turks, gypsies, vlachs and albanians, while almost qll slovenes are Croats, with small Austrian minority among them aswell
Balkans are way friendlier and vibrant
I’m polish please dont say that cause ppl in poland are very nice
I wouldn’t have enough energy to smile when I don’t feel like smiling 😛
It is a mental position
We don’t waste our energy to fake smiling. Only true smiles are avaible here 🙂
that’s the issue that there are no many true smiles.
@@topalbanoIn the West? I bet.
@@9Ephemeral_Star8 what about the south? Only in dark post communist countries you find real people and all others are fake? oh what a coincidence.
Nah! Poles come across as miserable, lifeless, angry and bitter. Could be a throwback to communism.
I’ll fit right in! Don’t change Polacy.
When we don’t have a reason we don’t that’s common friend
i’m Polish and this made me smile
That’s cos we Polish people are always thinking, always focused, always awaiting our enemies next move in case they attack us again 🧐
