I am from Germany and visited Poland in June. Maybe they don’t smile, but when you speak with them friendly they do.

I would say they are usually very friendly.

  • @mikirin. says:

I think I found my people

  • @Lee-fn8mh says:

There’s nothing funny, so people don’t smile, just normal

  • @MrSobeer says:

Yeah, we dont smile unless youre smiling first 😂

  • @dernevalribeiro4503 says:

The guy smiling for the camera sure could play a role like Darth Vader’s friend in a Star Wars production.

  • @Amasya_Blue says:

You want them to smile all by themselves while walking without anyone saying a joke or smth like they’re mentally unstable?

  • @Baqsam99 says:

Most people around the world probably wouldn’t be smiling in the situations shown…

  • @sinsinsinat5377 says:

Its better than the fake north american way.

    • @topalbano says:

we did not know that real people look miserable

    • @filipkogut8533 says:

@@topalbanoyour perception is skewed. Normal relaxed face does not look miserable. You live in a country where everyone has a fake joker smile glued up to his fsce at all times, I see why you’re not used to seeing faces with neutral expression.

    • @lukeswain1752 says:

As an American, I never fake smile. I am genuinely happy when I smile. Which is almost all the time. This is my first time in poland (where I am now.) It’s hard to walk around and not show emotion. I am very happy to be alive and traveling and I want to spread my joy and happiness but I can’t! I respect the “mind your business and don’t be different” mindset but it’s hard to bottle my joy! Most Americans are not fake. It might be a bit extreme, but we really genuinely are happy when we smile!

    • @WielkiLewimalytygrys says:

@@lukeswain1752 you have your culture we have ours but smiling in Poland isn’t a bad thing it may make ppl warm up to you and be contagious, but you gotta understand if your country was invaded and bombed as many times as Poland was I don’t think you guys would be smiling either😂

    • @lukeswain1752 says:

@@WielkiLewimalytygrys I was thinking just that. With how many times you’ve been walked over, I’d be skeptical and mean to everyone 🤣 but I still think you boys could try a little more kindness in your life! I don’t feel comfortable approaching or talking to anyone!

  • @francescadelogu5969 says:

They’re generally quite serious but, if you have the chance to spend some time with them, they’re friendly, nice people.

  • @pastguards4269 says:

actually i had a polish friend he was always making jokes…liked his energy:))
but most they will smile back if u smile 1st…only have to learn how to get out of their cocoon..

  • @charlottesmom says:

Half Polish (half Lithuanian) here, I barely ever smile! 😂

  • @user-em1gx1kl4t says:

The same situation in Russia. We prefer a sincere smile than fake politeness.

    • @lou_entertainment says:

My ex gf said that in Russia if you just walk around smiling, people will think your an idiot (there was a saying or something).

    • @topalbano says:

There is no “”fake politeness”. Either you are always polite or you are a homo sapiens.

    • @user-em1gx1kl4t says:

@@lou_entertainment смех без причины – признак дурачины. “Laughing for no reason is a sign of foolishness” if translated literally.

    • @lou_entertainment says:

@@user-em1gx1kl4t She gave me the exact same quote:
      “Nur Idioten lachen grundlos”

    • @srbce8355 says:

@@lou_entertainmentthere is a same quote in Croatia aswell

  • @BoboSLO1 says:

Also czechs adn all of eastern europeans mostly 😉 greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮

  • @KarmelkaOfficial says:

I’m polish please dont say that cause ppl in poland are very nice

  • @JolajnaLoja says:

I wouldn’t have enough energy to smile when I don’t feel like smiling 😛

  • @anon_24 says:

We don’t waste our energy to fake smiling. Only true smiles are avaible here 🙂

  • @straypadawan says:

I’ll fit right in! Don’t change Polacy.

  • @julopawlo9995 says:

When we don’t have a reason we don’t that’s common friend

  • @veronikavanquish says:

i’m Polish and this made me smile

  • @_Michal_Michal_ says:

That’s cos we Polish people are always thinking, always focused, always awaiting our enemies next move in case they attack us again 🧐
