• My mother was hired by my father... They were married eight months later... She was a virgin in her young twenties, newly graduated from Texas in Chicago, working as a Lab Technician. My father was the Supervisor for all the Labs in the Department of Health... They had a beautiful marriage and poured into each other until my father passed away about twenty years ago. Now that I'm taking care of my mother, she remarks how lucky she is to have good children, with a great man, and a house that allows everything to take place.

  School and college are the last places women will be around a group of vetted, eligible men who have a reputation to protect... Work is the last stop on that train... As long as things are done respectfully, it's a great place have your eyes open for someone. Their reputation will be well known, so it's a plus for women who often times overlook red flags and vetting cues.

  Good men are too rare to be picky about were and how you meet them.

• You should only really attempt a workplace romance if you know you can leave the job and find a new one quickly and easily if things go wrong.

  I dated a co-worker briefly back when I was 19 years old working in a drug store. It was great fun sneaking off into the storage room to make out and get a bit handsy. But it didn’t work out and it got really awkward. I left the job after a few months. Overall, I think dating co-workers is just too risky.

• I've seen workplace romances work and lead to long term relationships. I've also seen them go wrong and lead to some very awkward situations, even where one party had to leave for another job. Very risky.
