In reply to @TawandaClark-ii9ps. I didn’t have that problem either, until one specific guy. It took me quite some time to realize I was trauma bonded with him. I knew nothing about trauma bonds until that relationship.

I ended up quitting social media entirely as that is where we met. I may go back someday but just seeing the app icon still causes me anxiety and makes me think of him. Blocking just wasn’t enough in my case. TBH quitting social media has had other good mental benefits as well.

He pushed my away and pulled me back twice, but the third time he pushed me away, I cut ties. There will be no third pull-back. Fool me once, shame on you for doing so. Fool me twice, shame on me for allowing a second chance. If I let you fool me THREE TIMES, that is me tossing my dignity onto the ground as a rug for you to wipe your feet on. I won’t do THAT!

In this predicament now. The worst. Endless acts of service but feels transactional / codependent and he won’t let go even though we have major compatibility issues.

Letting him go because he hasn’t treated his trauma and alcoholism. I’ve been trying for 3 years to let go, my God. I’ve reached my limit. Letting go of these guys can help them reach their rock bottom, when we aren’t always cushioning them and absorbing or enabling.
