Never 💩 where you eat.
My answer is that career should not be taken that seriously. Your romantic life is far more important than any career. You don’t have to give up your career just find another job and work somewhere else. It is much harder to find the perfect woman than the perfect job. Jobs that are a dime a dozen. And maybe it’s time to give up your job and go on your own, and stop giving up your dreams for your stupid job. But I get it, has myself being a Cantor, and loving what I do, I do not want to risk being tossed out of a beautiful synagogue which I love. So if there is a girl there did I really like I proceed CAUTIOUSLY. I will smile, bee friendly and take it slow. I may even ask someone from the synagogue to approach her how about me dating her without her knowing it comes from me. I would date her without anyone from the synagogue knowing about it. Again, your philosophy is there are plenty of fish in the sea. I can say the same thing about a job, and there are more jobs available for qualified people than women available for qualified people.
Ya live once, take the chance! I know I am not big on getting a job. But an agent once sent me to Colombia fo a singing gig in a Synagouge and said, “Stay away from the women! My name is at stake!” I just gave him this look which said, “F*** you! I’m not going to Columbia to stay away from the beautiful women!”
