We Swedes are not self centered, itโs literally the opposite. We donโt disturb others because we value the time and personal space of others, and donโt want to be a nuisance to them!
Sure it can have many side effects like she mentioned in this video, but it has nothing to do with being self centered!

That US thing is not true . Im a Brit truck driver ive tried to make friends on my nights out in numerous cities . Most places are weird and unfriendly .
I think at night, most Americans feel on edge; they might think youโre a serial killer or something. Itโs easier to make friends when the sun is out.

@@RobotReglol. Itโs still a million times better than shithole USA. Honestly, itโs not even a comparison. I have friends who lived in both countries. The only issue were the high taxes and prices.
Sweden never had everything figured out. Itโs just how the Swedes promoted themselves to the world. But itโs becoming apparent the country is full of flows.

Great! I love Sweden, just mind your own business. Too bad Sweden is now unsafe, I would love to spend some time in Sweden.
Sweden has a lower crime rate per capita than Canada, so unless youโre planning on spending on spending time in literally the poorest neighbourhoods in Stockholm or Malmรถ(Where there is literally nothing to see for a tourist such as yourself), you should be fine.

Might be hard to become friends but they are nice and friendly. Iโm Brazilian and we make friends very easily, but that can bring you annoying issues. For example, they ask you for favors all the time, no boundaries and some people might not be real friends, just hang out people.

But itโs not true. Iโm swedish and I donโt know anyone who only have friends from their teenage years. I donโt know why this woman like to always put down swedes and scandinavians. She prefers other cultures (she is not scandinavian) but you have to be openminded and respectful if tou are going to talk about other cultures. Joking sbout stereotypes and play aroynd are all fun but be respectful.
As someone whoโs born and raised in Sweden with a swedish family, I wouldnโt agree at all. Sure, you donโt speak to strangers on the bus, but if someone is standing alone in a party or sittning alone you always try to invite them. And itโs easy to make friends here, at least in my experience. You make friends in school, at work, with neighbors, with friends friends etc. Many people dosenโt even stay connected to their childhood friends and find new ones, some people do, just like in any other country. People in Sweden are just as extroverted as people in other places, you just have to understand the culture.
I am Baltic Latvian and my Swedish friend once visited and mentioned how quite everyone was on a bus here. Aperently Swedes not as quite as Baltic people or Finns.

Itโs harder to make friends in Baltics and Finland. Talking to strangers is considered harrasment here.

Sweden sounds like my kinda place
I remember going to a party thrown by Mexicans coworkers here in California and the dudes making a beer run came back with some random Ukrainian dudes. The guy throwing the party basically found them walking around and asked if they wanted party with us. Apparently they were lost, looking for a specific place to eat and the Mexican guy throwing the party asked them if they wanted Tequila and food, and they just got in the truck. They opened up real quick. It wasnt a problem that they barely spoke english. They were eating a bunch of carne asada, rice, beans, and a ton of alcohol.
They were refugees from the war, so it was nice for them to experience friendship and hospitality with someone outside their own culture.
What did the Ukrainian dudes do away from their duties back home?

Seems like I need to move to Sweden.
I live in Sweden, my kids were born there, and I came to Sweden at 30 years old man, and itโs difficult to be friend of a Swedish person, I got two very close work friends, we hang out together, we are never going to be clise friends not because of them, because I donโt want to, for me Sweden is perfect in that sense.
