3 Ways To Be Interesting (Without Trying)

The key to being interesting is that you’re more into expressing yourself, than fitting in with everyone around you.

  1. Don’t nod along like a fan, express your true opinion with a smile. “You may be surprised to hear this, but I actually love _____” “You know what, I've always been more of a _____ person myself.”

You're not trying to be contrarian or mean, but you are comfortable sharing your authentic opinion.

  1. Don’t just interview other people, also share about yourself. “I don’t know if you’ve ever had this experience, but I _____”

Grill people with questions and they'll eventually clam up. Instead make them feel more comfortable to speak by talking first about yourself.

  1. Don’t fear messing up. If something doesn’t land well just call it out, “Wow, I was so awkward then. Let me restart.”

Calling it out shows that you're not worried about losing their interest, you're keeping it playful and having fun.

Socially confident people don't just show interest in others, they are themselves interesting.
