Do ARABS Date the Same Way?

• I've had a Lebanese boyfriend for almost 3 months. He doesn't want me to meet his parents just yet (they're Christian). He tells me that his parents are very into their culture and that if he introduces me to his parents, it means he'll have to marry me in the future. Can anyone who is Lebanese tell me if what he's saying is credible?

  • It's not just in Lebanese but Arab culture in general that if a guy introduces you to his parents, it becomes a large expectation on that guy to marry you as not doing so will lead to a lot of intrusive questions from family members and relatives.
    PS: I'm not Lebanese but have tons of Lebanese friends.

• Arab dating cultures are quite similar to Indian dating cultures. Very conservative and unfortunately lots of sexually frustrated people living an unhealthy and unhappy lifestyle. Like in Egypt, you get to see a lot of sexual harassment cases in India. I hope India can change for the better in future.

  • Also id like to mention that in India gay marriage is legal, which is a big difference to arab countries.

  • There is a similarity, but in Hindu and Buddhist parts at least it is slowly getting more open minded. I know lots of love marriages, and see couples dating almost every day, yes they may do it not openly but they do it. Many have relations before marriage but not sexually. In arranged marriage dating is knowadays allowed after engagement is settled. Before they would just meet at their actual marriage. I guess it also depends on family and location in India. Muslim community i guess is definitely more conservative.

• That was a funny video, and yes almost everything is relatable, but I would say that the younger generation are becoming more free when it comes to dating, having sex, and living together outside of marriage (abroad), and dating foreigners, especially for guys.

  • Definitely not something that anyone should be proud of, very sad seeing how haram is being normalized. Incredible how most have become so weak they are taking the standard of the west over the true and righteous path of the Quran and sunnah, all this is a sign of the end of times ofc
