• Happy Thursday Marina ❤! I usually see Asians not showing Public Display of Affection most of the time whenever I see them and they are not to be introverted and reserved. I don't know if this is true or not but what I have been told is that Asian women like to date light skin guys, for example if a foreigner is light skin. As mentioned I don't know if it is true but it's something that I have been told before

• TLDR Story Time!!!

  I've seen a Korean couple's PDA in a grocery store, and it caught me by surprise. She was hugging his arm to the point that he bowed by her weight. I'm shopping for breakfast, and they were in the dairy section in front of the milk I needed to grab. They moved to another part of the store, and I was creeped out because it made me feel like I was following them.

  They went to the meat section where I needed to get sausage and bacon. Her arms wrapped tight around his torso inside his pea coat. His back nearly against the cold shelves. She was trying to kiss him. She's on her tippy toes! With her puckered lips trying to reach his, he's tall and tucked his chin back to avoid contact.

  HE LOOKED SO UNCOMFORTABLE. She was persistent and not paying attention to her surroundings when he saw me again. He tried to roll her arms down and off the way you'd roll a wet bathing suit off.

  Overall, it was a strange encounter. They were both properly dressed. I felt like I needed to leave to give them privacy in the grocery store at 7 am.

  • Please note that Korean Americans are very different from actual Koreans in social behaviors and values. They are literally very westernized. Even then, if they were fob Koreans, note that this occurred in the US, and not Korea, so that could've been a big factor as to their behavior, since they understand that PDA is more acceptable and less judged in the US than in Korea, where the elders will constantly look down upon you for such disturbing behavior. Korea is a very age-based/seniority-based society, so that means that you should always behave in ways that are acceptable in the eyes of someone older than you. But these days, a lot of younger Koreans are more Westernized in their values, being more accepting or understanding about these things. Just not the older generation. I've never seen my parents make out ever. Just a peck at most. They don't even sleep together anymore. Sex life in Asian households kinda dies, especially for baby boomer Asians.
    Lastly, we have this concept in Korea called skinship. It is our version of PDA, but it doesn't have to be public. It's all about showing displays of affection through physical touch. So from something as simple as holding hands to kissing. I think Koreans are more prude and innocent, almost sexually naive, compared to the average Western person of the same age group. Sex-ed is taught in a lot of Western schools, plus their tv shows and films are more open about teenage sex life. Korean dramas are far more prude, and they make a big deal about rather innocent scenes in the eyes of a Westerner, such as when the guy holds the girl's hand for the first time, or when they share a kiss. It's so romanticized, that time literally stops, and the camera goes on a whole 360 degree spin, with the main OST ballad playing in the background. But I personally find Japanese guys are even more deluded when it comes to romanticizing relationships, and they seemed to be more fixated on gender roles than even Koreans (Korea has a strong presence of feminist these days). A lot of Japanese guys expect to come home to a wife who cooked a nice warm meal to them, and would take their suit and iron it for them. Who the hell has the time for these impractical fantasies these days when women are also working long hours as men? Especially, in East Asian countries, where work hours are extremely long, and companies don't give an f about maternity leave. There is a reason why Koreans and Japanese have the lowest birth rate of any country in the world, plus the highest average age of marriage.
