I asked German men and women on the streets of Munich and Cologne, Germany if they would prefer to date a German or a foreigner. Here is what they had to say.

As a person who has been traveling to Germany for over 20 times, German folks are quite nice and friendly actually. I like polite and organized people, though not the bossy types.
As an Englishman, I would like to marry a German woman. I feel we are a very similar people, our culture and history that is
Yeah you too had a genocidial maniac called churchill
Date English women. You're even more similar
Lol you donât know what you will get yourself into.
as someone from germany, i think those people who say that they want only someone from germany also mean that they would date foreigners that are born and raised in germany. in germany there are plenty of people with different cultures so i donât think they need to look for someone outside of the country when they can have a foreigner that speaks german fluently and is raised in the german culture.
@@thecrimsondragon9744 it sounds more like having prejudices against muslim people đ there are lot of muslims who drink alcohol and If someone already knows from the beginning that he is not a Muslim, he will and could not force him to change his religion.
@@sanna_goldman i think this case would be true in the states but in germany you are a foreigner if you are not ethnically german or at least donât have a german passport
If they are born and raised in Germany then they aren't foreign....
â@@hmvollbanane1259To be fair, Muslims are a special case even by foreign standards. They generally expect you to convert to their religion before getting married. Also, no alcohol, pork, dogs etc as it's against their beliefs. Some that are not religious may be a bit more flexible.
But if you had a Hindu Indian or Chinese Buddhist, for example, with a German person there's a greater chance they will meet you in the middle.
I believe this is only true for people from a closely related culture like Polish or Dutch as the problems with misunderstandings and different cultures would still persist e.g. with a Muslim person born here. Of course there would be much more familiarity however at least to me this seems like opening the same can of worms of cultural and value clashes they are wanting to avoid (e.g. I just learned recently that Muslims aren't allowed to touch dogs or have them in their house which would be a deal breaker to me, though of course it depends on the person and how secular and integrated they are. But since this is about preferences I think that a preference for dating someone from Germany is primarily about dating other native Germans or people from related cultures that the people feel like they understand and are familiar with)
As a German woman, I do not see European men as foreigners so that is why I am with a man of my race
@@slavicmelodies9614 I didn't say right or wrong. Did you just assume what I said as wrong? Or my intentions were wrong. Perhaps I worded it in the wrong way.

oh my god i kept laughing everytime they said that Spanish and Latin American cultures are more open minded. Iâm Mexican and American and itâs more that some people outside have a fetish of Latinas that isnât talked about and also Mexican and other Latin American countries are very traditional and conservative. Because I am also American it wasnât a problem for my family that I brought my boyfriend over to sleep with in my own room, but in a Mexican household normally this would NOT be allowed unless the couple is officially marriedâŠand only by the church. I have a lot of family in Germany and it was honestly a nice experienced to suddenly not be met with so much caution as Mexicans are constantly stereotyped in the American media here, but please do not assume other cultures here are necessarily more open-minded, itâs more so we are very social cultures and we prioritize family. You WILL attend every single social event in your city, it doesnât matter if you donât know the family very well! đ If you donât like to socialize well too bad, you will make a terrible impression đ
Sure if you live in a super conservatice family in a village... reallity is different, Latin America nowadays is more openminded than South Europe
Excellent then
your talking about something that is sexual in nature lol those who say open minded are talking about friendliness and being warm to random people more inviting. most people will questio ln theyre daughters having a male in their house in their room alone
I wonder where in the U.S. you're from. I'd say in most of the U.S., parents would NOT be ok with a daughter having a boyfriend over. The U.S. is actually quite traditional and this doesn't get talked about a lot.
As a German, I married an Italian woman. We follow traditional values, and want many babies together.. but in my experience, German women prioritiese their career.

I'm half German half Romanian. I didn't date so far even there were a couple chances in the past.
But the point is that in my point of view it's easier to get along with Romanians, not just when it's about relationships but in general. They're friendlier, funnier and warmer. It doesn't take long to break the ice.
In Germany it's harder I think. Not saying that every1 is bad but compared to Romania it was harder for me to get in contact with people in Munich than in Romania.
sounds like youre a bit ignorant
Agree 100%. I am Romanian, my ex-boyfriend was german, and for my future relationships I would rather choose somebody from my own country.
