Iโve lived in both Los Angeles and Switzerland and this is almost word for word this same experience as me (Los Angeles = Rio, Switzerland = Finland)
Yes I live in Los Angeles coming from Michigan and I see the same pattern
Rio is BRโs LA for sure
Sounds like Los Scandalous Shitfornia to Meโฆ..
I live in Finland!

and yes, in here itโs rude to be late and if u plan something you always go on time there or if u cant make it re-schedule it in good time.
For better or worse, Atlanta in a lot like Rio. Thatโs why Iโm moving to Europe.
I feel so bad for you, but hey, good luck in europoor land!

No. Don,t come to europe , go to australia or canada
I love our eastern europe (finnish too) straighttotgepointness
also in east Germany
โ@@Jean-Jaures East Germans are better at irony
Finland is not east. Itโs North. Northern Europe have their own culture apart from the east.

I actually loathe the type of people she described. No concern for your time and will deceive you to your face and think they are being nice by doing it.
It depends. I have been late very often, when i say i am coming at 5pm, i will be there 100% but might be like 5:30.
Itโs called the โjeitinho brasileiroโ or โthe little Brazilian wayโ.
Rio is
Awful
Black people time. (Thatโs the nice way to put it, that wonโt get deleted)
Itโs her perception. There could be more to the story. For example if she refuses to learn Portuguese, people will not be able to communicate well with you.
She is cool!
I agree people respect time in Scandinavian countries totally different. You have to be patient the thinking is quite different or the culture I might say.
Beautiful English skills.
All Nordic countries start studying English from 3rd grade. Itโs part of the curriculum and a major part of our education program. If you donโt pass English, math and whatever the national language you have (depending on what country we are in) you can not advance your education to high school or university level
@@kingdt903We are also exposed to movies, TV shows, music and video games in English without dubbing from a very early age so most kids already have a fairly good understanding of English or at least basic skills when starting 3rd grade. Which is a huge advantage when learning the language
โ@@joseantoniogalante897
Most of the people in the World do not speak English.
โ@@kingdt903 Actually it was changed to start foreig language at 1st grade. Most choose english.
She is totally right. We(Brazilians) donโt like to be rude, so we try to be nice as much as we can, even tho its a small talk.
Doctors(Specially paid ones)are pain in the butt.
Itโs not being nice itโs being bull
Makes sense kinda. In Finland, and at least in Nothern Europe we show respect by not giving false promises, and being on time. Probably in middle Europe and east too. South Europe is a chaos lol.
Try to be niceโฆ. Try ?
your choice
Either your are nice or you a have false personality
@@munteza9262 youโre wrong, sometimes the best we can do is not enough to other people, human being is not math
@@ThiagoMnab not enough.. or do not make a effort for itโฆ
I donโt understand how she canโt say a single strictly positive thing about the place yet she lived there for 18 years
Peoples live where they find more suitable for themselves. The fact that she lives 18 years in rio, that said a lot she prefers it rather than finland. May be the weather is her biggest concern.
She didnโt say the things were good or bad. Just that she had to get used to them.
Most likely married with kids now, canโt leave
it is a short dude, no time
She was asked what was difficult to get used to. You usually donโt have difficulty to get used to things because theyโre just too good.
That โnice small talkโ is a way of showing respect even in some asian countries and you can figure out which ones really mean come to my house after some time. If your culture doesnโt have it doesnโt mean u can disrespect it. Like i didnt disrespect Germanโs piercing my heart with their way of talking when i went there. Its just about culture diffrences.
piercing your heart? how?
@@pinkunicorn7426Germans donโt care for anybody lol
One thing that almost everyone does is to think a country and a city/region is the same thing. Rio is too slow and late even for me. Other regions are not Scandinavia but are much more punctual. People in Sรฃo Paulo and Minas are pretty decently on time.
I went to a dentist in Ipanema and he was on time and made an excellent job.
I hope people donโt take the lack of genuineness in Rio as an example for the rest of the country, where it is the exact opposite. I feel as if this is mostly true in all the big metropolises in the world though.
I know both Finnish and Brazilian people. Theyโre kind of opposites
โI donโt actually have to mean what i say hereโ
Everyone just talking sh!t
She just described Ireland
I worked in Ireland for a while. The answer was always โah sure, lookโฆ Itโll be grandโ. I loved this outside of the work placeโฆ As a yank, it killed me in the office

She totally nailed it! As a Brit living here
, those are the two worst things.
People pretend to be your friend when you first meet. Then you never hear from them again.

My time in Brazil was the same. You have to add a couple of hours on to your appointmentโฆ Itโs mind numbing. But I still love the country and people
Thanks
