  • @@bgranger_842 the correct name is Briton, it means indigenous to the British Isles.. Brits is just shortened to try insult us. Think of it as censoring a name. We hate it because English people are just known as "Brits", despite the fact our early Grandfathers came from Germany and Denmark, aka Anglo-Saxons

I thought the issue was to identify british people as English people, which i totally understand why would piss people off. I thought British was the uncontroversial way to include all UK people.

• As a Greek woman living in Greece, what he said about the approval from the family is not real. While it's true that we're very family-oriented, very few Greek parents would get involved in their children's dating life (if their child is dating a non Greek/non Christian some parents would be very hesitant at the beginning, but most would finally accept it as they prioritise the happiness of their children).
  Also about the other guy who said "we are men, not like the British", well, while it's true that greek men are generally more dominant than northern and western Europeans, it does not apply to everyone. Our dating culture can't be put into a box because as a country we have equally western and eastern influences. You can find basically everything here. There are quiet guys who would never approach and others that are way too pushy.
  Personally I prefer someone in the middle

Confining people to stereotypes. Men are more than alphas. Women are more than housewifes. Everyone is unique.

  • @@nabilrise1551 the older generation Greeks are usually very religious. Younger Greeks are also baptised orthodox Christian but many of them don't care about religion at all or go to church once or twice a year on national celebrations
