We ask Italians in Florence about the "momma's boy" stereotype to see what they have to say. Are Italian men really momma's boys? Why so: is it more emotional or economical? Is it common to live with your mom longer?

I have noticed differences between north (near the Alps) and south-central. I don't know whether it depends on the economy or different cultural/traditional factors.
Being men Childs ?
Shout out to all the mamma’s 😂
Well, if Italians are mama's boys, who is to blame?
The men the fathers and the mothers
@@marvin2678 The mothers mostly.
And Italian girls are pappa's girls . Nothing wrong with that.
Thats why family ties are stronger in South Europe.
Nah you gotta be able to live on your own at 27
Italians are family oriented, that's why
Not the same
@marvin2678 I know that Italian men are momma boys most of them
American Italian as well. Not a bad Thing! ❤
Buon Sabato a tutti gli Italiani 🇮🇹
It's part of the Mediterranean culture, for better or for worse...the whole Mediterranean from lebanon to morroco and from spain to turkey although have very different cultures and religions, they all are very family oriented and mothers and grand mothers have huuuuge importance in the family, they are the pilar of the house. Sometimes it can be kinda toxic and misogynistic but i think in recent years more mothers are teaching their sons to be more independent and doing house work the same as the females are encouraged to study and follow their dreams but at the same time to maintain the family unit, and loving and respecting your elders, I think nowadays being a Mammas boy or a daddy s girl is getting less toxic and it rather means retaining the family value and caring for each other, not throwing your kid out, unprepared for the world by the age of 18, and not putting your parents in a facility and leave them alone in their old age.
I think it depends on a man, but you don't have to depend on your mom if you have a legal age. But for some reason if you grow up with your mom. Most men know how to take good care of thier partner because they know how to treat woman.compare to a man who's not a mama 's boy that is why some couples they're relationship lead to speration or devorce. Compare to mam who grew up with his mom. But once you have partner your mom is there to guiiyou not to there all the time cause you're on your on with
As an American of partial Italian descent, i can confirm..
My brother is 100% a mommas boy lol
