I suppose if you are used to it you don’t notice it, but when it is ingrained in you how to always always eat with a knife and a fork, wipe your lips before using your glass to drink, finish eating and joining both utensils to the right to signal you are finished and so on and so forth it is off putting to see Americans not abide by the rules of civilized (European) society. But ultimately this is a cultural preference. I find equally off putting the Asian habit of slurping food or eating saucy food with your hands like Indians do! It is all a matter of perspective so nothing to be taken too serious!
